The story behind this duffle
For the last 10 years I’ve been carrying a canvas satchel back pack. Recently I had to admit to myself that the bag had had it’s day. I set out looking for something new and was confronted with mock hiking bags at every turn: these just didn’t grab me. So I ended up deciding to make my own, fusing all the elements that I deemed attractive, essential and useful together into one article.
The resulting bag is large enough to hold all of your daily kit, without it looking like you’re backpacking around town.
Versatility is essential. The single strap is fitted in such a way that the bag can be carried in three different ways:
1 – Loosen the strap right out and it can be worn crossed over the shoulder (default positioning)
2 – Tighten the strap halfway up and you’re able to carry it by your side like a bucket bag
3 – Spin it on its side when it’s full, tighten the strap further and you’re able to use it as a holdall
