Our first house-designed print features drippy, gnarly floral wave motifs in tones of brown, coral and soft mustard/yellow. Reminiscent of traditional Hawaiian shirt patterns but with a tangier, acid-tingled twist.
Working in collaboration with a pattern illustrator and using similar traditional techniques to that of the great 1940s masters such as Koichiro Miyamoto (also known as Musa-shiya), we’ve colourised our Hawaiians with the shades of Twilight and Midnight.
Surf’s done for the day; let’s begin the night.

The fit of the shirt is drapey, generous in its size and owes it's easy flow to the fabric: a supple rayon-like 100% bamboo fabric - this is a shirt for holidaying in.
The fit was inspired by a shirt we own from 1951 that was given as a souvenir to all the voyagers of the Watson Line cruise ships. The Watson Line would travel from the US to the Hawaiian islands on a weekly basis, taking 5 days to arrive it allowed every traveller to slow down and aclimatise into the pace of the holiday ahead.
Complete with a coconut button front, loop collar fastening, single chest pocket and side vents. Perfectly cut in the length to wear in-or-out, catching the coastal breeze or shining under the stars of the island nights.
