Fourth in the Icon Series release finds us in a NYC recording session with Mohammed Ali and Sam Cooke circa 1964. Long time friends and collaborators cutting a track called “The gang’s all here” for an album set to be released by Cassius Clay that same year.
This is a special one for us - the image helped to spark Scott’s first obsession with knit shirts. So it was only a matter of time until we took to obsessing over the details of this champion knit.
We scrutinised this series of studio images to make sure all the details were there for this one. Firstly commissioning black and white photo-colourisers to obtain the exact shades for us to work from. To calculating the size of each alternating stripes through the front panel down to the millimetre, working from original examples we own to obtain the exact same construction and attributes you can see below worn by Ali.
The details on this piece are extensive, including two slanted fully fashioned hip-pockets, a full mother-of-pearl button front and under-collar button as they were back then. With so much love and admiration for Don Hunstein's capture of these two giants of sport and soul music it deserved the greatest level of refinement.

The Ali knits are a classic fit. Order for your chest size, or size up for a fuller/more generous fit. See the size chart below for more information.
Marcus is pictured wearing a size XXLARE and is 6ft 3" and has a 44″ chest. Scott wears a size SMALL (check the black and white option for ref.), he is 5ft 10" (177cm) and has a 38″ chest.
STYLING

CARE INSTRUCTIONS/INFO
DRY CLEAN ONLY (Preferred) - once wool is machine or hand-washed in water it never hangs quite hangs the same.
100% Merino wool - Made in Barcelona, Spain.
